EXPERIENCE

Daniel J. Wallery has over 16 years of valuation consulting and engineering experience. As a civil engineer with a strong background in finance, Dan has the diverse background necessary to solve an array of complex appraisal problems. He has appraised real and personal property, as well as, intangibles and business enterprises.

Real property appraisal experience encompasses congregate care and health care facilities, office buildings, commercial buildings and industrial facilities. Dan has provided valuation and tax consulting for more than 150 nursing homes and senior living centers throughout the United States. Personal property appraisal experience includes furniture and fixtures, computers and manufacturing machinery and equipment. His background in business appraisals includes real estate brokerage firms, restaurants, hotels, congregate care facilities, nursing homes, golf courses and resort operations. Property tax consulting experience consists of valuation, consultation and negotiation at all levels of the assessment and appeals process, and testifying on valuation issues.

Prior to forming Nelson & Wallery, Ltd. in 1991, Dan was a valuation and property tax consultant for a Big Six accounting firm, and served as a structural engineer for a major engineering firm, working in the design and analysis of nuclear generating facilities.
