Charlotte Hall has a program designed especially for the comfort, security and care of residents with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia. A daily structured routine helps residents live to their fullest potential under the care of a specially trained staff. Located in Charlotte Hall's newest addition, this self-contained special care unit features its own private courtyard and patio.

Charlotte Hall's emphasis on nutrition plays an important role in the care of its Alzheimer residents. Innovative therapeutic programs help residents stay active. Every effort has been made to create a home-like environment. A support program helps families understand and cope with the varied aspects of this disease.

Nursing Care

From assisted living to skilled nursing care, Charlotte Hall's team of skilled professionals— registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified medicine aides and certified nursing assistants—knows how to meet the special healthcare needs of veterans. Charlotte Hall serves veterans who need high intensity skilled nursing and medical services such as extensive wound care, tube feeding, rehabilitation and respiratory treatment.

Among the facility's many services are full orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation for stroke victims or residents with hip and knee replacements. Charlotte Hall provides needed diagnostic and medical services on site. It has facilities for dental and podiatry care. A full range of speech and occupational therapies are also available. A therapeutic recreation program complements nursing care.

And, of course, residents can use their own transportation to come and go as they please. Back in their own comfortable rooms, residents can add personal touches to create a warm atmosphere.
